5,933 miles is the distance between our shop in Visalia, CA and that of Andrey Kolesnikov in Vladimir, Russia. We are an American knife company and he is a Russian master artist and engraver. We make things that can cut, he makes things that are art. Luckily, there is a way to combine our talents, like on the custom Tantofarer pictured here. Andrey was able to not only draw original artwork but carve it to life in bronze on this one-off knife. The Samurai motif is a classic and is continued on both scales, with a complementary Bonsai tree design on the clip and backspacer. We wanted to keep this knife simple and bring attention to the carving itself, so no other embellishments were added, other than a subtle handrub finish on the CTS-XHP blade.
